Rainbow Bridge  Sessions

None of us likes to think of it, but at some point the worst will happen, and our beloved best friend will pass over the Rainbow Bridge and gain his wings.

If you're looking for a Rainbow Bridge session at short notice due to critical illness, all the information you need is below.

The Location

I normally recommend your Rainbow Bridge Session takes place at your home, so that we can ensure your dog is relaxed and comfortable. We aim to capture your dog in natural moments enjoying his home and interacting with family members, using a documentary style for those precious, bittersweet moments that will mean so much to you

If you prefer it and your dog is physically able to manage, you may also opt for one of my pre-selected locations for an outdoor location session

Availability

My online diary will show my current availability which is typically a minimum of 7 days in advance. If you need a Rainbow Bridge Session within the next 7 days please contact me directly as I may be able to arrange a session for you at much shorter notice if the situation is critical

If I do not have any availability, I will be happy to recommend an alternative photographer who specialises in dog photography and who I trust to work ethically and respectfully given the circumstances of your session

Frequently Asked Questions!

These are the most popular questions about booking your photo shoot - but if I've missed anything, let me know!

What type of photos do you capture in a Rainbow Bridge session?

The types of images we capture during your session will very much depend on the physical capabilities and comfort of your dog. The session is likely to be mainly documentary style and focusing on capturing unposed moments, of your dog by himself and as part of your family

Where do Rainbow Bridge sessions take place?

I would normally recommend option for a Rainbow Bridge Session to take place at your home, as that is going to be the most comfortable location for your dog.

However, depending on the physical capabilities of your dog, we may be able to opt for one of my pre-selected locations in Leics, Northants and Bucks

What's included with the photo shoot?

The Rainbow Bridge Pawprints Session includes a full set of Print Ready digital files ready for you to download from your online gallery

How much does it cost?

Rainbow Bridge Sessions cost £375 or 3 instalments x £125

Are there any extra costs?

The Rainbow Bridge Session is designed as an all-inclusive package so that you don't need to choose which memories to keep, and a complete set of Print Ready digital files is included for you to download

I do offer a range of other products and artwork, and can talk you through the options if this is something you may be interested in, but there is no obligation to order anything extra if the time isn't right or things feel just too raw.

Any additional orders can either be paid in full on receipt of your invoice, or via an instalment plan.

How long does a photo shoot last?

This is dependent on your dog's comfort and physical capabilities, but I would normally recommend allowing 2 - 2.5 hours so that we can work at your dog's pace with no pressure or time constraints

What about the weather?

If your photo shoot is due to take place outdoors, there's always a chance it could be affected by the weather!

If we've got torrential rain, soaring temperatures or freezing conditions that means it's not suitable for your photo shoot to take place. For End of Life Sessions, I recommend that we choose an alternative location such as your house to ensure we capture those precious memories for you

How do I know if this is right for my dog?

Ultimately this is something only you can decide, and I am happy to talk through what happens with you, so that you can make an informed decision

A Rainbow Bridge Session will always prioritise the wellbeing of your dog, and we will only work at a pace he is comfortable with. If he needs breaks, we'll take them, and we'll ensure that we don't ask him to pose or do anything beyond his capabilities

How do you ensure my dog is comfortable?

Ensuring your dog is comfortable is the ultimate priority for a Rainbow Bridge Session. This may be just letting him do his thing and capturing images as they happen in a documentary style, and keeping any posing to an absolute minimum or asking him to do anything beyond his capabilities.

We can also take as many breaks as we need to, to ensure he doesn't get tired and it doesn't become too much for him

What if my dog passes away soon after the session?

If this happens, I realise that you might not want to see your images straightaway, as it will understandably be very raw. Take all the time you need, your images will be waiting for you whenever you're ready to see them.

What if my dog passes away before the session?

If your dog passes away before your session can take place, I'm happy to offer a full refund

How does the online gallery work?

Your personal online gallery will normally be uploaded 1-2 weeks after your photo shoot and you'll be sent the login details via email.

The online gallery will be open for a period of 7 days, during which time you can download your Print Ready files. You can also order any additional products at this stage if you wish, but there is absolutely no obligation to do so.

All the images in your gallery will be kept indefinitely, and your gallery can be reactivated for a £25 fee. If you place an additional product order following reactivation, this fee will be deducted from your invoice

How long does it take to get my artwork?

If you choose to order any prints, wall art or other products, it normally takes 4-6 weeks from your order date for your artwork to be delivered to me for checking (albums may take longer).

If you're paying via instalments, digital files and artwork orders are delivered once the instalment plan has been completed. If you've paid in full on receipt of invoice, your order will be delivered as soon as I've checked everything is correct.

Is there a guarantee?

Due to the health and physical limitations of your dog, I can't guarantee that every image will be perfect. But what I can guarantee is that the images I capture will give you those precious moments that you can keep strong and close to your heart forever, and show the beautiful love between you and your beloved companion that will last forever
