What to Expect on Your Litter Shoot

Capturing those special memories of puppy's first family for new puppy parents to treasure forever

1: Got your due date...

I know there's so much to think about and plan for when puppies are on the way - it feels like a never-ending list of things to do! If you're thinking about creating a beautiful memory of puppy's first family to gift the new puppy parents in their puppy packs, make sure you contact me as soon as you have your due date so that we can get you pencilled in my diary!

If you're not sure what to expect or if a litter shoot is right for you, I'm always happy to have a chat to go through the what's included and what happens on the day to help you make the right decision for you and your puppies.

Litter Shoot Basic Package

The Litter Shoot Basic Package includes your photo shoot, which takes place in your home, as well as one complimentary unmounted print per puppy for inclusion in your puppy packs. This is normally the group shot (if achieved) or an individual portrait (if group shot not achieved). You can choose an upgrade option to add extra prints if you wish

New Puppy Parents will also have the option to purchase additional images if available and if they wish to

2: When puppies arrive....

I know the first few days when puppies arrive can be totally chaotic - you're exhausted and sleep-deprived so you won't be thinking of anything but the puppies! As soon as you can, drop me a message to let me know that puppies have arrived safely and that you're ready to confirm the date for your litter shoot.

We'll agree the date, which will be when the puppies are 5-6 weeks old, and I'll send through some quick paperwork to confirm all the details with you

I would love to include any personal ideas or themes in your litter shoot, so let me know if there's anything special we can do to create a unique image for you. For example, the Twybrook Kooikerhondje puppies were born on the Netherlands' Kings Day, so we created a setting incorporating their Dutch heritage

It can be nerve-wracking when you don't quite know what to expect from your photo shoot. Let me set your mind at ease from all the worries and concerns you have, so you feel confident you and the puppies will be happy, comfortable and, most importantly, enjoy the experience!

You're welcome to give me a call or email me at any point in the run up to your litter shoot, if you have any questions or want to check anything. I'm happy to help!

INITIAL PAPERWORK

Once we've agreed the date,  I'll send you a confirmation email, with quick links to sign the contract and fill in a quick questionnaire  - no messy paperwork to send back!

You will also receive your invoice for the Basic Package at this stage, along with any upgrade options you've chosen at this stage. Your invoice can be easily paid online or via bank transfer with full details provided on the invoice

Unfortunately due to the short timescales involved, I am unable to offer instalment plans for litter shoots

3. Capture those Special Puppy Portraits

A litter shoot is equal parts cuteness and chaos - and that's probably exactly how you'll feel on the day!

Despite this, your photo shoot will be a relaxed day, with plenty of time to ensure this is a positive experience for the puppies. We'll take things as slowly with breaks for naps, toilet breaks, feeding and playtime as required, as we capture special memories of these early days with their litter mates.

We aim to capture a group shot of all the puppies together to create a precious keepsake of the puppies' first family, as well as individual portraits of each one. Please note the group shot is not guaranteed as it depends on how well the puppies get on during the photo shoot - if not achieved, each puppy parent will receive a complimentary individual portrait of their puppy instead

4. Before Puppies Go Home

Before or during your photo shoot, I'll make sure I ask you when your puppies are due to start going to their new homes, so that I can ensure your complimentary unmounted prints are with you in plenty of time to be included in their puppy packs.

The new puppy parents will also have the option to purchase any additional prints from the individual portraits we've taken during the litter shoot, via an online ordering gallery. Access to this gallery can be granted as soon as the initial edits have been completed, which is normally about a week after the photoshoot, so that new puppy parents can share their excitement about their new arrival with their friends!

Gallery access for New Puppy Parents

I'll set up an online gallery set up with the individual portraits from the litter shoot that you can share with your new puppy parents via an online link & password

If you've pre-booked an upgraded print package for your puppy parents, they'll have the option to choose their images via the gallery, or they can order any extra prints themselves

I typically do not include the group shot that they'll be receiving in their puppy packs within this gallery, so you can keep it as a surprise for them, if you wish to!

5: A Memory to Treasure Forever

You'll receive an unmounted print of the group shot (if achieved) per puppy, ready for new puppy parents to treasure in their home and keep those special memories of their puppy's first family to treasure forever

A beautiful addition to any puppy pack and a wonderful gift from your family to theirs to celebrate the pitter-patter of tiny paws!

I am also pleased to include a bonus for every new puppy parent included with their complimentary print: a free guide on '24 photos you can capture in puppy's first five weeks at home', and a special photo shoot offer exclusive to Litter Shoot clients
