August was a bit of a disappointing month for me in terms of the Image of the Month competition, so by September I was well and truly feeling 'competition fatigue'. It is an intense competition - entering for 10 months out of 12 at this standard can be gruelling, and I have the utmost admiration for people who enter multiple categories. One is enough for me!
Nonetheless, at this stage of the year it is always worth persevering if, like me, you are still in the running for the Photographers' Bar. So I duly selected and edited three images - two of Leia, the golden retriever, who had a Pawfect Moments Experience with me earlier in the year, and one of the handsome Bow who joined me in the Lavender Fields in June.
I am thrilled to say that all three images were awarded Bronze!

I absolutely love this shot of Leia in Wendover Woods, Buckinghamshire. Leia's experience consisted of two sessions - a Studio Style session at their home, and an outdoor session at one of her favourite places.
The second shot was also taken at Wendover Woods, and was actually high up on a bank where these gorgeous old tree roots were undulating from the ground, which gave the feel of a much older woodland - it's amazing how the same location can give such different shots and I think the darker feel really suits this setting.
Bow and his baby brother Otis joined me in the Lavender Fields in June this year. The session was mainly to capture some photos of Bow as he is now a more senior boy, but Otis also got his share of the limelight. Bow was an absolute star and this shot of him surrounded by lavender is one of my favourites from the session
