It's always lovely when a previous client comes back for another photo shoot, so I was thrilled when the gorgeous Aston Martini and his humans decided to join me in the Lavender Fields this summer!
Aston's mum, Leah, had been interested in both lavender fields and poppy fields sessions, but it can be tricky to find a good location for poppies. Imagine our excitement this year when we found out that the lavender farm had planted poppies in their wildflower meadow!!
Obviously this was too much of a good opportunity to miss, so we made sure to split out time between the two different areas on the lavender farm, so that we could capture images in both settings for Aston's humans.

What Aston and Leah thought
I love to ask my clients (both canine and human) a little bit about them and what they thought of their Lavender Fields Session - so Aston and Leah have kindly answered a few questions for me:
How did Aston come to live with his humans?
As a seven week old puppy. We first met when I was two weeks old. It was love at first sight.
What's your favourite toy and why?
Ball. Oh man I love a ball! Balls are the best! They bounce, roll, play hide and seek. You can chew them, carry them, and even find treats in them!
What would your human say is the naughtiest thing you've done?
Stealing balls from other dogs in the park. I can carry two easily so I sneak the other dog's ball in the back of my mouth so I can steal it away.
What dog-friendly place would you recommend to your friends and why?
Everards Brewhall, Fosse Park. Staff are friendly and food is delicious (so I've heard- Aston doesn't get "people" food due to his delicate tummy). Great for a walk before/after.
What's your favourite place to go for a walk?
Fosse Meadows. Lots of open space and other dogs to meet.
What's your favourite thing to do with your human?
Hold paws. Skills and scent training with Rover's Return. Go for a nice walk off lead where I can run and sniff things!
Why did you decide to bring your dog for a photo shoot?
Sandie's beautiful work and calm nature
What was your biggest worry about the photo shoot (either before booking or before the day)?
Mud.
How was your experience on the day?
It all went well, thank you!
What did you enjoy the most?
Sandie's flexibility, working with Aston to get the best shots
What did you think of your photo shoot? What was your favourite bit and why?
Lots of treats!!!! Soooo much fun finding treats!!!
What did you think of the portraits/artwork you received?
Just what I was looking for! They turned out so well it was difficult to choose, so difficult we had to buy more than we had budgeted for!
How did you feel when you first saw the photos from your photoshoot?
Smiling ear to ear!!!
What piece of advice would you give to someone thinking of booking a photoshoot for their dog?
Sandie truly has a "no-hard sale" ethos. She works hard to get the best shot. It's not just a photo, it's the whole experience!!
If you have had a shoot with me before, what made you decide to book again?
Watching your work on Instagram. I really wanted a professional poppy photo
