After a month off in April, I was wondering what to enter in May's Image of the Month competition. It just so happened that Mum & Sherbet were visiting for my birthday, which coincided with Sherbet having his one year old birthday photo shoot (actually 15 months, but who's counting?), so aha I thought - "let's get some shots of Sherbet for IOM!"
We set up the studio equipment in my lounge and away we went with some lovely posed shots of the boy. This is absolutely one of my favourite shots from the session, and I was totally thrilled to be awarded a High Bronze for this portrait of him.
After the posed shots, I happened to be chatting to Mum about a forthcoming litter shoot I'd got which was taking place on Jubilee weekend. One of the props I'd got hold of was a Jubilee flag, but when it arrived it was much smaller than I anticipated, which was a bit disappointing.
"It's the right size for the little chair though" I joked, pointing to a miniature chair that Sherbet was photographed on as a 9 week old puppy. Then, an idea dawned. We strung up some bunting on the backdrop, popped the flag on the chair and dressed Sherbet in his knitted jubilee collar.
It was a fun Jubilee shot at the end of the session, but I entered it to make up the numbers - so I was really pleased to be awarded a Bronze award for this one too!
Now - what to enter next month??
