I’ll let you into a secret – I do have a soft spot for Irish setters. My grandparents had a couple of setter-crosses when we were children, and they really were the most beautiful dogs, so I was really looking forward to my dog portrait photo shoot with beautiful Luna.
Luna’s beautiful coat was something I really wanted to enhance, and I used a brown velvet backdrop to complement her colour. Luna has such a dignified look that I was so pleased to be able to capture on the studio style shots.

One of the things to be aware of is that dogs may not like the lights – Luna was completely happy during the studio style part of her session. We headed outside to get a few outdoor shots, and when we went back indoors and into the lounge, she began barking at my lights/soft box! Luckily the session was finished, as the most important thing during the shoot is that Luna was happy at all times.
